For your safety and wellbeing we have prepared guidelines that you should abide by:
1. You must be 18 to rent and ride a scooter.
2. Do not exceed 25 miles per hour. Always obey the posted speed limit.
3. Wear a helmet and closed-toe shoes. Wearing a helmet may prevent or reduce the severity of scooter injuries.
4. Wear protective gear. This includes: elbow and kneepads and reflective gear for riding at night.
5. Start slow. The accelerator and braking tabs on the handles can take getting used to.
6. No texting and riding. Use both hands to operate the scooter.
7. No standing on the seat of the scooter.
8. Do not leave the scooter unattended while running.
9. No ear buds in. Be aware of your surroundings.
10. Use road lanes as you would on a car. If not available, riders should stay inside the road lane at all times without weaving in and out of traffic.
11. Do not ride scooters on sidewalks, beach paths, or parks. This puts pedestrians at risk of injury as well as riders and it is illegal.
11. Do not operate a scooter while under the influence of alcohol, drugs or even some prescription medicines.
12. Scooters are not allowed on highways.
13. Be considerate of pedestrians – they have a right to walk freely and safely.
14. Avoid uneven surfaces like grass, inclines, potholes, etc.
15. Follow traffic rules and observe traffic signs.
16. Use caution at crosswalks and be mindful of pedestrians and vehicles.
17. Park the scooter in designated parking areas – don’t block walkways, driveways, fire hydrants, access ramps, or business entrances.
